Barely ten months after Congressman Rofus Rodriguez of the 2nd congressional district of Cagayan de Oro has assumed office, his accomplishments certainly exceeded that of any neophyte congressman.
His programs on health, education, economics and development, or heed are moving places more than any other congressman has ever done.
I have obtained the information when he was our guest last Thursday in my TV program at COCTV-39 and he was able to expound so fully on his priority programs and projects.
Speaking of infrastructure programs, congressman rofus worked for the concreting of Velez st., a national road, from C.M. Recto Avenue to Yacapin St. with a budget of 30million pesos. From Yacapin St. to Dolores St. s the end of Velez St., he intends to pour in 20million pesos more from the DPWH national fund. It means that persuasion did the job and the entire amount was not taken from his congressional pork barrel.
If it is not a magic of sorts, then congressman rofus is genius in funding projects.
In all my 44years in this world, I have never seen a man so in genius and creative to orchestrate projects as a congressman to be able to deliver what is best for his constituency.
Congressman Rofus, indeed, is a real breed of a legislator.
But one of his great accomplishments in the first ten months of tenure is the establishment of a city public college which would, on it’s first year, provided the scholarship off 600 students to baccalaureate courses like nursing, electronics and computer information technology.
These scholars should be graduates from public high schools in the 2nd congressional district of Cagayan de Oro City and This initial batch of 600 students, are all scholars of Rofus Rodriguez and our primed to get the skills and the academic qualifications to work abroad.
After their graduation, they will repay the cost of their schooling to enable very poor but academically excellent students to avail of the same scholarship grant and finish a 4year course like nursing, or computer technology to be able to work abroad and gain employment and support another set of needy scholars to graduate and continue the cycle of goodness and academic achievement.
Congressman Rofus Rodriguez could never go wrong because the had the best of intentions,
The setting-up of the public city college is a feat that other congressman’s should emulate, implement and bring to fusions.
The voters who cast their lot on congressman Rofus should rejoice, those who did not should regret.
For in the end you deserve what you chose for. For in the end, Rofus was the man who deserved it all.
